Meet Cedric. A laid-back, quiet, yet stylish guy! He is embarking on several milestones in his life and wanted to do something special. So, he contacted me and we set up a shoot that would showcase his own personal style and personality!! We had lots of fun shooting!

I am a member of a great national organization called the American Society of Media Photographers (ASMP) which works with a fabulous non-profit called Flashes of Hope. Throughout each year the ASMP and their members volunteer to take part in photo shoots all around the country to donate their time and talent to the patients at hospitals involved with the Flashes of Hope organization.

“Flashes of Hope is a nonprofit organization that changes the way children with cancer and other life threatening illnesses see themselves through the gift of photography and raises money for pediatric cancer research. ”

The portraits, taken by award-winning photographers, help children feel better about their changing appearance by celebrating it. For families of terminally ill children, it’s especially important to have a portrait that preserves forever the beauty, grace and dignity of their child. Their goal is to photograph every child until every child is cured. (wording from

In January I had the priviledge to participate in a photo shoot with some of the most wonderful pediatric cancer patients at Houston’s own M.D. Anderson hospital as part of the Flashes of Hope service. As a result, I, along with several other leading Houston photographers, will have our images from these special sessions on exhibit at the Museum of Printing History during Fotofest. The above image is one of my images that you can look for at the exhibition.

*Please join us at the opening reception March 18, 2010 from 6p-8p at the Museum of Printing History 1324 West Clay St., Houston, TX 77019. The show runs from February 11-April 24, 2010.
