Wow, it’s been 5 days since the new year began! I can’t believe that another decade has passed by so quickly. This year, I don’t have any resolutions, per se, but I do have a pretty good idea of what I’d like to accomplish in this year and the type of person I want to become. There’s my list of 101 in 1,001 to start with.  I’m making pretty good progress and doing my best to stay positive that I will accomplish the whole list. I have been working on getting the items out of the way that have many pieces, like my book and movie lists. So far 1 book down, 31 to go and 4 movies down with 27 to go (I added an additional movie to the list).

My main goal for this year is to live in the moment and to enjoy where I am until I get to where I’m going. Like many people, I focus so much on the future and worrying about what I’m going to do that I don’t take enough time to enjoy the moments that I can’t get back. Don’t get me wrong, we should all definitely think about our future and even plan for it, but when it gets to the point that it consumes you, that’s when you know you’ve got a problem. We can’t change one thing about our future and all we have is today. It sounds cheesy, but it is so true. I don’t want to waste so much time living in the future that when the future comes I’m too busy looking back on all that I may have missed in the passed. I have decided to be more conscious and aware of my thoughts so that I can stay positive and be grateful for the many blessings that God has given to me. My endeavor is to take things slow and to not get ahead of myself or God and just let everything work out as it should.

While I’m waiting I will be planning for the future, so that I can be successful and learning all that I can. I’ll be laughing more (which should be interesting because I already laugh a lot) and building better relationships with my clients and love ones. I am so excited and filled with anticipation as I look forward to all that this year has to offer!
